Film #1 – The Story of Plastic (60mins) is a searing expose revealing the ugly truth behind plastic pollution and the false solution of plastic recycling. Different from every other plastic documentary you’ve seen, The Story of Plastic presents a cohesive timeline of how we got to our current global plastic pollution crisis and how the oil and gas industry has successfully manipulated the narrative around it.

From the extraction of fossil fuels and plastic disposal to the global resistance fighting back, The Story of Plastic is a life-changing film depicting one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues.

Film #2 – Sanctuary (15mins)

Marine sanctuaries on the NSW South Coast are under threat. In 2019 the NSW Government began scrapping marine protections in the Batemans Marine Park. With no consultation of the community, Yuin Native Title holders, the scientific community or the marine park’s own advisory body – this short-sighted decision threatens the future of our marine life.

SANCTUARY documents the importance of marine sanctuaries, how important they are to the community, the environment, and the people fighting to save them. Filmed and produced by Aristo Risi for the Save our Batemans Sanctuaries campaign with the support of Nature Coast Marine Group. Head to www.savebatemanssanctuaries.org.au to show your support and find out how you can help.

The film screenings will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with guest speakers Sarah-Jo Lobwein from SO Shire & Seaside Scavenge and Sharnie Connell, Senior Campaigns Officer, National Parks Association of NSW.
