End of year picnic!

It’s our 30 year anniversary, and catch up end of year celebration!

Sunday 5 December – please save the date!  We’d love all our friends and supporters to join us!

UPDATE: in the event of wet weather we’ll be meeting in the undercover area next to Audley cafe

After a challenging year, we’re looking forward to an in-person catch up, post-lockdown picnic. We have another reason to celebrate too – it’s also our 30th anniversary – 30 years since Bob Walshe started the Centre in 1991.

For the picnic, we’re meeting from around 11am at Reid’s Flat, in the Royal National Park, a beautiful, quiet spot near Audley.

To get there – if you’re coming from the Princes Hwy via Farnell Dr, when you get to Audley, turn left immediately before crossing the weir.  The road is listed as Riverside Dr in this map of the Reid’s Flat picnic area.  Just follow the road until you come to the picnic area.

There’s bbq’s, picnic tables, toilets, and a sandy entry into the river if you fancy a swim.

Please bring: blankets or chairs to sit on, something delicious for you eat and drink, hat, sunblock.  Swimmers, towel, kayaks optional!

It’s an honour that in the year of the Centre’s 30th anniversary we’ve been awarded Group of the Year in the Nature Conservation Council’s NSW Environment Awards.

This is an award that recognises and celebrates the outstanding commitment and success of campaigners, grassroots environmentalists and conservation groups across the state.

It’s only through the hard work of volunteers, both current and over the past 30 years, that this advocacy for the Shire’s beautiful natural environment has been possible.

Thinking of Bob Walshe, we hope he would have been pleased.
