Oceans and beaches

Sutherland Shire is blessed with many beautiful beaches and swimming spots, from the Cronulla coastline, Royal National Park, secluded swimming holes, ocean baths and public pools.

Sadly, these places that we all enjoy so much, are constantly under threat, from pollution, inappropriate development, over-use.

The oceans, beaches and estuaries of New South Wales are home to rich marine life, including majestic sea turtles, powerful whales, colourful reef fish, kelp forests and abundant rocky reefs.

Marine sanctuaries protect our marine environment and lifestyle so that current and future generations can experience our abundant marine life.
