Speaking 4 the Planet is a world-first program – an arts-based sustainability competition, which runs in Australia and internationally on primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
This year’s competition is being supported by a number of Councils across Australia, including Sutherland, and the aim is to give students the opportunity to speak about the planet and the future.
For Sutherland Shire students the theme is ‘Edge of the Future: Climate Action’.
The competition has the following categories:
* Public speaking
* Performance poetry
It is open to Sutherland Shire high school students aged 12-18, and students can enter submissions in one or more categories. There are prizes to win for local winners in each category.
The deadline for entries is 31 August.
